Meteorologist Matt Mackie says this Monday’s temperatures will bring highs in the 50s to around 60. There may be scattered showers on Tuesday, but the rest of the week should be dry.

Residents across the Capital Region and beyond experienced smoky conditions outside on Sunday, all throughout the day. According to fire departments across the state, these uncommon conditions are due to multiple wildfires spreading in the downstate and New Jersey region.
2. Albany Police arrest man accused of assault
Police have charged an Albany man accused of assaulting a 50-year-old man on Friday, Nov. 8. Police said James Farmer, 41, is facing multiple charges.
3. State Police investigate fatal storage unit fire
State Police are looking into a storage unit fire in Richmondville where remains of a person were found. Troopers said the fire broke out on Friday, Nov. 8, around 4:09 a.m.
4. Despite reforms, New York faces childcare cost crisis
While families in New York struggle to afford childcare, childcare providers struggle with low wages. Though the state offers subsidies and temporary wage boosts, the sector remains in crisis, with middle-income and working-class families frequently left out.
5. 2024 Veterans Day events around the Capital Region
On Monday, New York State will also honor veterans by waiving the fishing license requirement for all residents and non-residents. There will also be free and discounted prices for Veterans at State Parks, golf courses, museums, restaurants, and even family-friendly attractions across the state.
