DENVER (KDVR) — Two juveniles were arrested for allegedly firing multiple rounds from a gun while driving in Boulder County.
On Sunday at around 10:50 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were near 119th Street and Oxford Road, north of Niwot, conducting increased traffic patrols. The sheriff’s office said they had received several reports of people firing multiple handgun or rifle rounds from a moving car.
When in the area, deputies said they heard several gunshots, and the sheriff’s office said one deputy saw a suspect in a vehicle fire the rounds as the car traveled northbound in the 8400 block of 119th Street.
The sheriff’s office said deputies pursued the car into Longmont. Eventually, the suspects stopped on their own in the 300 block of South Sunset Street and two juveniles were taken into custody.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said Longmont police assisted in the arrest.
The two juveniles were booked on the following charges:
- Eluding
- Reckless driving
- Driving without a valid driver’s license
- Five counts of prohibited use of a weapon
- Five counts of possession of a handgun by a juvenile
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Deputies said they recovered a handgun and several handgun rounds.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the shooting. At this time, deputies said it’s unclear why the juveniles targeted that area and what the suspects were aiming at as they fired the rounds.
