Dogs Trust Shoreham has encouraged people to consider sponsoring one of the dogs in the charity’s care.

The Sponsor A Dog Scheme supports the charity to care for thousands of dogs each year and recipients will receive a sponsorship pack including a photo certificate of their chosen dog, photo postcards, a window sticker and fridge magnet.

Recipients will also receive updates from their pooch three times a year – at Christmas, on Valentine’s Day and in the summer.

Currently, Dogs Trust has 21 dogs available for sponsorship. This includes Woody and Farley at Dogs Trust Shoreham.

Woody is a clever boy who loves to try new things, especially for a treat.

When he’s not going on adventures or training with his canine carers, his favourite thing to do is curl up on his armchair and watch the world go by.

He arrived at Dogs Trust Shoreham after things didn’t work out at his first home.

He’s quite a nervous pooch and has some medical conditions but that doesn’t slow him down.

His carer friends are working hard with him so that one day he can find his forever family.

Farley is a bright Yorkshire Terrier who loves to spend time with his carers while learning new things.

He’s an active boy but equally loves spending lots of time relaxing in a warm and cosy bed.

Farley thrives on routine, as he can get a little overwhelmed when unpredictable things happen.

He’s doing very well at Dogs Trust Shoreham as his carers have bonded with him and understand his needs.

Adel Burnett, manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said: “We adore Woody and Farley and I am sure the dog lover in your life will too.

“By sponsoring a dog like Woody or Farley not only are you helping your chosen sponsor dog, but you are also helping us care for the hundreds of dogs being looked after within our 21 rehoming centres.

“The money raised through this scheme is vital in helping with all aspects of running our centre, from heating the kennels, providing treats and enrichment toys, training and behaviour support and any veterinary care required for our dogs.”
