Child rushed to hospital after incident outside Glasgow school

Emergency crews were called to Cumbernauld Street in the Gorbals at 3.08pm on Tuesday, October 15.

The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) sent two paramedic response units, a critical care paramedic, an ambulance, and a trauma team to the scene.

A child was then taken to the Royal Hospital for Children. 

We reported how police have taped off the road which is located outside Blackfriars Primary School in the Southside.

An eyewitness said the street has been fully cordoned off. They also revealed officers were talking to locals in the area.

Currently, the nature of the incident is unknown.

A spokesperson for the SAS said: “We received a call today at 3.08pm to attend an incident on Cumberland Street in Glasgow.

“We dispatched two paramedic response units, a critical care paramedic, one ambulance and our trauma team to the scene.

“Our first resource arrived on scene within three minutes and we transported a child patient to the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.”

We have contacted Police Scotland for comment, more as we have it.
