Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Sparta Prague (UEFA Champions League)
Manchester City return to UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday by welcoming Sparta Prague to the Etihad Stadium on matchday three of the league phase.
Pep Guardiola and his players remain unbeaten from the start of the ongoing season across all competitions, and also remain the only unbeaten side in the Premier League having recorded a 1-2 win over Wolves on Sunday after Arsenal were defeated 2-0 by Bournemouth.
In Europe’s premier club competition, City bounced right back to winning form after a 0-0 draw against Inter on matchday one by defeating Slovan Bratislava 0-4 in Slovakia in the second gameweek.
With all eyes on yet another convincing victory as Sparta Prague come to town on Wednesday night, Manchester City will then immediately refocus and turn attentions back over to the Premier League where Southampton visit the north-west on Saturday afternoon.
As for Sparta Praha, they have had a relatively strong start to the new domestic season in Czechia, having won eight, drawn one, and lost two of their opening 11 matches, sitting in second position behind only Slavia Praha.
Manchester City’s fitness and injury picture has changed once again following the weekend, with all of Oscar Bobb, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, and Kyle Walker ruled out, with the latter having sustained a knee injury during the international break.
Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku were both absent from training on Tuesday afternoon as Manchester City put together their final preparations for the match, and their status remains unknown in the lead-up to the squad’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium and officials line-ups.
Ahead of kick-off in Manchester tonight, here is how both Pep Guardiola and Lars Friis have lined up their respective City and Sparta Prague sides in UEFA Champions League action!
