DENVER (KDVR) — Quiet weather will continue through Sunday, but Denver’s weather turns more active starting Sunday night, and then again right before Thanksgiving.

Denver could see half of an inch of snowfall overnight tonight as another cold front moves through.

Weather today: Mostly sunny skies and warm

The area has plenty of sunshine on the way Sunday! Temperatures in the morning started out very mild, in the middle 30s. Temps will slowly but surely make their way into the upper 50s and lower 60s with winds out of the southwest anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Weather tonight: Chance rain/snow

There is a chance of rain and snow around dinnertime which will transition into snow overnight Sunday, so if you have any outdoor plans in the evening, make sure to keep an eye on the sky. Any snow that the area does get will be light with very minimal accumulations, and the area might see half an inch of snow overnight at the very most.

Looking ahead: More snow before Thanksgiving

Monday and Tuesday will be dry. Expect mostly sunny conditions on Monday with increasing clouds again on Tuesday. Snow returns starting Tuesday afternoon in the mountains, and Tuesday night for the lower elevations.

Snow totals are still uncertain at this time, but metro Denver may see a few inches of accumulation, with higher amounts likely in the mountains.

If you have any plans to travel before Thanksgiving, Monday and Tuesday are the best options as the roads will be very messy on Wednesday.
