BURNET COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Burnet County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating suspects after an incident at a church Sunday morning.
Residents near the church, located on North US-281, received an alert Sunday about two armed suspects. BCSO also asked for help getting any footage of what happened from north-facing cameras near the 2400 block of N US-281 that was taken between 3:00 and 11:00 a.m.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office to 512-756-8080.
The Lampasas Police Department posted on Facebook about the incident, saying they added additional patrols to the city and churches out of an abundance of caution.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the Lampasas Police Department immediately called in additional staff and supervision to patrol our city, specifically our churches,” the post read. “We have coordinated with other local law enforcement agencies to be on high alert and ready to deter or respond immediately to any incidents that might occur.”
The LPD’s post noted “that no related incidents have occurred in or around our city.”
The FBI confirmed to KXAN that they are aware of the incident in Burnet County, and are coordinating with state and local authorities.
