Deputy Secretary Verma’s Travel to Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Bulgaria, and Belgium – United States Department of State
Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma will travel to Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Bulgaria, and Belgium November 13-19. While in Warsaw, Deputy Secretary Verma will lead the U.S. delegation to the fourth annual ReBuild Ukraine conference, where he will reaffirm U.S. support for Ukraine’s economic resilience and self-defense against Russia’s ongoing invasion. The Deputy Secretary will also engage with Polish government officials and private sector leaders in support of Ukraine’s economic recovery.
In Ukraine, Deputy Secretary Verma will reaffirm the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine’s economic recovery and self-defense against Russia’s ongoing invasion. While in Kyiv, the Deputy Secretary will meet with the Office of the President, Prime Minister Shmyhal, and members of the Rada to discuss U.S. assistance and ongoing diplomatic efforts in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty amid its fight against Russia’s brutal war of aggression.
In Italy, the Deputy Secretary will meet with the leadership of the U.S. Missions to Italy, the Holy See, and the UN Agencies in Rome. During his visit to Bulgaria, Deputy Secretary Verma will advance our strategic partnership and shared goals, such as increasing economic and energy cooperation, supporting Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s aggression, and strengthening Black Sea security. In Brussels, he will meet with NATO Allies and members of the U.S. Mission to NATO and the European Union.
