Eamonn Sweeney: The GAA needs to be brave and back the new football rules
Supporters deserve a game to enjoy, not endure
It doesn’t matter a damn what Pádraic Joyce thinks of the new football rules. It doesn’t matter what Kieran McGeeney thinks of them. Or Mickey Harte either. It doesn’t matter a bit.
Managers who’ve devoted years to making football so tediously negative are part of the problem, not part of the solution. They’ve a vested interest in the game changing as little as possible. They’ll seek to subvert the new rules so the song remains the same.
