A wintry Thanksgiving across parts of the Northeast and New England!

The last 24 hours made for a wintry Thanksgiving across parts of the Northeast and New England! Well over a foot of snowfall was reported in higher elevations as coastal low pressure wrapped up over the region.  

Chilly temperatures encompassed much of the U.S. 

Friday evening temperature snapshot across the country—overall the lower 48 is nearly 8-degrees below normal. 

Forecast temperature anomaly the next 15 days in 5-day intervals indicates some moderation from the unseasonable chill is likely toward mid-month, but many cold days ahead short term.

Dangerous wind chills will continue across the northern Plains, while heavy lake effect snows impact the Great Lakes. 

Chicago area not alone as much of the Midwest to shiver in mid-winter level chill and the coldest weekend since the middle of last winter.

Lake effect snow machine to continue the next 48 hours producing some large totals. 

1-2 feet possible in portions of the Michigan snowbelt. 

Across Lake Erie, totals could exceed 4-5 feet in some areas in upstate New York.
