Full list of every UK high street shop confirmed to close down in 2025

In 2024 more than 13,000 high street shops closed down for good, with many putting it down to cost hikes.
Research carried out by the Centre for Retail Research, found that 13,479 stores, the equivalent of 37 each day, shut their door, making a 28% increase from 2023.
The industry expert has also suggested that this year even more shops will shut amid national insurance contribution increases and higher wages.
Some brands have already confirmed plans to shut down shops across the coming year, including Homebase, Millets, Shoe Zone and more.
Full list of all the high street shops closing in 2025
WH Smith
In the last two years, WH Smith has shut down ten stores and plans to add one more to the list in 2025.
With confirmed plans to close the Winton, Bournemouth branch on February 15.
Despite one store shutting down, WH Smith has shared they are planning on an expansion in the future.
Co-op
Local corner shop brand, the Co-op previously shared that 19 branches across the UK will be closing in the next six months.
However, the retailer also confirmed that three of the closing Co-ops would become B&M home stores and will be announced soon, according to Time Out.
The Co-op has not given a specific date for any store closers yet but has confirmed the locations to close or to be converted:

- Broughton, High St, Northamptonshire
- Croft, Pochin Street, Leicestershire
- Desborough, Hill Top, Braybrooke Road, Northamptonshire
- Dudley, Overfield Road, West Midlands

- Enderby, Mill Lane, Leicestershire
- Kingstanding, Hawthorn Road, West Midlands
- Leicester, Evington Rd, Leicestershire
- Leicester, Narborough Rd, Leicestershire
- Narborough, Station Road, Leicestershire
- Peterborough, Mayors Walk, Cambridgeshire
- Sprowston, Chartwell Road, Norfolk
- Stafford, Baswich Lane, Staffordshire
- Wigston, Blaby Road, Leicestershire
- Yardley, Stoney Lane, West Midlands
- Cromer, Middlebrook Way, Norfolk
- Erdington, High Street, West Midlands
- Shepshed, Hallcroft, Leicestershire
Monki
Fashion brand Monki, owned by H&M said it would be closing all seven stores in the UK over the next year.
The Monki stores closing in 2025 are:
- Newcastle (Closed on January 2)
- Manchester (Closing on January 17)
- Glasgow (no date yet)
- Sheffield (no date yet)
- Birmingham (no date yet)
- Bristol (no date yet)
- London (no date yet)
Homebase
DIY retailer Homebase went into administration in 2024 and placed 74 of their shops on sale.
70 of the branches have been saved after being brought, resulting in four stores closing down.
The Homebase shops closing down with no set date are as follows:
- Derry/Londonderry
- Inverurie
- Omagh
- Glenrothes, Fife
- Millets
Popular outdoor retailer, Millets said it would be shutting down six out of its 100 UK stores in 2025.
Four of the six are expected to become Go Outdoors, which are:
- Lowestoft
- Douglas
- York
- Grimsby

There is only one Millets store closing for good in Burgess Hill, West Sussex in January.
Shoe Zone
High street shop Shoe Zone shared in 2024 that it was facing financial troubles and said it may need to cut back on stores and staff.
However, the brand has not confirmed the exact date or stores that could be closed down yet.
