Housebuilder brings festive cheer to hundreds of over 60s
Bargate Homes and the Saints Foundation, the official charity of Southampton FC, joined forces for the second year to host a Christmas event for 300 people at St Mary’s Stadium.
The event, which was free for all attendees, featured a three-course Christmas lunch, games, a raffle and entertainment, including a Christmas quiz led by former England striker and Saints Foundation ambassador James Beattie.
Mark White, managing director of Bargate Homes, said: “We are delighted to support the Senior Saints Christmas Party for the second year running.

“As a regional housebuilder, we take great pride in giving back to the communities we work in, whether it’s building homes, supporting youth projects, or helping older generations feel valued and included.
“This is a fantastic event which brings older members of our community together during a time of year when many elderly can feel lonely and isolated and it’s a joy for us to support this joyous event once again.”
Paul Hedges, Saints Foundation health projects manager, said: “Christmas time is all about sharing the joy for Saints Foundation, and our Senior Saints Christmas party is a key part of that every year.
“The event continues to grow year on year, and that wouldn’t be possible without the support of Bargate Homes.
“Their generosity in sponsoring this annual event, and donating their staff time and enthusiasm to support, allows us to make the day as special as possible for as many older adults as we can.”
The event was organised as part of the Senior Saints programme, a free initiative by the Saints Foundation, which offers over 60s in Southampton access to weekly activities such as circuits, seated exercises, walking sports and wellbeing walks.
