Man, 58, arrested in connection with cannabis farm found behind ‘fake wall’

A cannabis farm with an estimated worth of around £10,000 was discovered a property on Century Lodge in Farnworth after being raided by officers in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, December 4.

The cannabis farm was hidden behind a “fake wall”, with a “sophisticated” ventilation setup preventing the smell from emanating beyond the room. 

A total of around 20 to 25 plants were seized by officers during the raid.

Although no one was present at the time of the raid, officers at the time said an investigation was ongoing.

And on Saturday morning police said they arrested a 58-year-old man on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.

Speaking about the seizure at the time, Sergeant Jess Prudence said: “I am very happy, it is a good result, and it is good for officers to get the warrant. 

“We have disrupted criminal activity and are going to seize and destroy the cannabis.
