Vancouver police say a 28-year-old man has been charged in the shooting death in August of a man on the Downtown Eastside.
The B.C. Prosecution Service has charged Felix Edmond Moro with one count of first-degree murder in the death of 43-year-old Terry Bachtis, police said.
Officers responded to a call at East Cordova and Carrall streets just before 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 29 after Bachtis was shot, according to police. First responders tried to save the man, but he died at the scene before he could be taken to hospital.
Police say they arrested Moro Wednesday night in the Downtown Eastside after an investigation by the VPD Homicide Unit. It’s not clear if the suspect and victim knew each other.
Moro remains in custody.
