OnePlus launched OxygenOS 15, the latest version of its operating system, packed with new features and improvements. This update brings a refreshed user interface (UI), better customisation options, new modes, and enhanced photo editing tools. The OnePlus 13 is the first device to come with OxygenOS 15 pre-installed, showcasing all the exciting new changes. A recent report has also revealed that the OnePlus 13 offers more storage space than its predecessor, the OnePlus 12, thanks to the way OxygenOS 15 optimizes system storage.

More Space on OnePlus 13

According to the report, OxygenOS 15 takes up 20% less storage on the OnePlus 13 compared to OxygenOS 14 on the OnePlus 12. This space-saving improvement means users get more room for apps, photos, and other data. OnePlus achieved this by removing redundant features and optimizing the system’s resources. For example, the preloaded wallpapers and system resources are now stored on-demand, rather than taking up precious space right from the start.

Additionally, OnePlus reduced the size of the super partition, a key storage area used by the system. While the OnePlus 12 has a 16GB super partition, the OnePlus 13 uses a smaller 14.3GB partition, freeing up an extra 1.7GB for user data and apps. This means more space for users to install apps, store photos, and save files. However, it’s worth noting that these details apply to the Chinese versions of the devices, and global models might have slightly different specifications.

OxygenOS 15 on OnePlus 12

Not only is the OnePlus 13 getting OxygenOS 15, but the update has also started rolling out to OnePlus 12 devices around the world, including in India, North America, and Europe. This update brings fresh visual tweaks, including new animations and UI improvements, as well as performance upgrades. Perhaps most exciting are the new AI features, which enhance the user experience by making tasks like photo editing, device optimization, and resource management smoother and more intuitive.

The rollout for the OnePlus 12 started ahead of schedule, reaching users a week before the official release date. This early rollout shows OnePlus’s commitment to delivering timely updates, ensuring that both the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 13 get the latest features as quickly as possible.

With OxygenOS 15, OnePlus isn’t just focusing on design and aesthetics; the company is also prioritizing efficiency, making sure the operating system takes up less space and performs better. The introduction of a more efficient OS on the OnePlus 13, combined with the ongoing rollout for the OnePlus 12, demonstrates OnePlus’s ongoing efforts to improve the user experience. As OxygenOS 15 continues to make its way to more devices, users can look forward to even more improvements in storage management, system performance, and overall functionality.
