FOXBORO — To get ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Patriots conducted a rare Tuesday practice this week.

Every player took the field for initial stretching, including newly reinstated safety Jabrill Peppers who was activated off the commissioner’s exempt list Monday.

Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said before practice he fully expects Peppers to practice this week, though it remains unknown if he will play Sunday against the Colts. The 29-year-old had been away from the team and prohibited from practicing or playing in any games since landing on the commissioner’s exempt list after facing charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a class “B” substance on Oct. 7.

The Patriots continued to practice with offensive lineman Cole Strange, who remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list after suffering a torn patellar tendon last December. Strange could be activated at any time, though the team would first need to clear a roster spot.

The Pats will practice again Wednesday and Friday this week, with players and coaches getting Thursday off for the holiday. The team is scheduled to release its first injury report of the week Wednesday evening.
