POLICE have continued to pursue and arrest individuals involved with the bonfire night chaos in Edinburgh almost a month on – with a 10-year-old among those charged.

Police Scotland have continued to make arrests in the wake of the chaos that unfolded in the capital on 5 November.

The force has now announced that following investigations by their team, a total of 32 arrests have been made so far with a whopping 79 charges brought against suspects.

The chaos on Bonfire Night was focused in the Niddrie, Gracemount, Moredun and Calder Road areas of the capital.

Shockingly one of the suspects reportedly arrested in connection with the incidents was a boy aged just 10.

The night saw mobs of individuals take to the streets, launching fireworks at the police.

They also threw rocks and other objects at officers, who were forced to form human barriers in the roads, decked out in riot gear.

Across the whole country, a total of 43 people have been arrested in connection with the disorder, with the majority of these being in Edinburgh.

Police have stated that detectives are continuing to pursue lines of inquiry related to the chaos on the night and thanked the public for their support in identifying individuals of interest and their continued support in the investigation.

They have further asked the public and anyone who believes they may have useful information to continue to come forward.

Chief superintendent David Robertson, divisional commander for Edinburgh said: “What we’ve seen in the wake of the disorder that took place, is a genuine desire from communities to support our efforts to identify the individuals who caused fear and alarm and hold them to account for their actions and I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has assisted our investigations.

“I made it clear that we would be unrelenting in our pursuit of those responsible for the fear, alarm and damage that was caused within parts of Edinburgh on Bonfire Night and I am reaffirming that commitment today.

“If you think you have evaded justice because we have not yet contacted you, it’s only a matter of time.
