A pet parent’s attempt to treat her dog to a pup cup quickly went viral after the long line caused some frustration.
Dog owner Katrina of central Florida drove to a coffee shop for a caffeine fix and because her dogs were along for the ride, they needed a special pup cup treat. Her rescue dog, Kairo, always expects the cup of sweet goodness now, which had TikTok viewers laughing considering he didn’t have the best life before Katrina adopted him in 2018.
“The [shelter] staff had told me that he was found skin and bones on the streets trying to survive,” Katrina told Newsweek via email. “When he came in he had fresh cuts and cuts that were in the process of healing, giving the indication that he had been on the streets for a little bit.”
But even from his tough beginning, Katrina said he has always been the “sweetest, happy-go-lucky boy.” This pit bull mix apparently falls in love with every person he meets. The only thing he loves more is his precious pup cups.

“When I took him to my local coffee shop around the first couple months of adopting him the baristas asked if he could have a pup cup and I’ve never seen his tail wiggle harder,” she said. “He’s been in love ever since.”
In the December 10 video, Kairo sat in his seat rocking his pajamas. He kept readjusting in anticipation of his pup cup. But when the line wasn’t moving he wined and whimpered, letting the world know how he felt. The longer he had to wait, the more he pouted and his tantrum grew.
“Kairo will throw a tantrum about anything if he’s not getting his way instantly,” she said. “I might’ve spoiled him a little too hard.”
Kairo didn’t understand that a line meant he had to wait. That and the word “no” is not something he likes to hear, Katrina said. He’s leaned into a life of luxury and when he doesn’t get his way, he throws tantrums, which happens often.
“I love showing his ‘toddler’ like side,” Katrina said. “I feel a lot of people have a negative opinion on these breeds because media is always portraying them as monsters but it couldn’t be further from the truth. I think the only dangerous thing about him is his ability to throw a tantrum and using all 70lbs to smother you in hugs.”
With over 2.3 million views on TikTok, people couldn’t get over Kairo’s tantrum, stating he “found his worth” and that he’s a real “rags to riches” story.
“His outfit and everything. How dare they make him wait in that line,” asked a viewer.
Another wrote: “He has become accustomed to the finer things…stay thirsty my friend.”
Kairo isn’t the only one who’s demanded excellence after being rescued. A dog owner wrote: “Mine was homeless eating garbage and now goes on a hunger strike if his kibble isn’t mixed with wet food.”
