Ray J admits he ‘got loud and aggressive’ with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sons before Chris Brown stopped fight outside of a club
Ray J admits he played a role in igniting the feud with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sons over the weekend.
“We didn’t have a fight,” he said while chatting with Nicki Minaj on Instagram Live, per the Shade Room. “We had a big argument right outside the club.”
Minaj quickly interrupted Ray, asking the singer “who started” the altercation that happened outside of a Halloween party in Los Angeles last Saturday.
“This time, I think I got loud and aggressive,” he admitted. “But it was the third time this happened, and so I felt like I needed to stand up for myself, even though [they] was talking s–t and we was having crazy words. I was walking that way to avoid the issue, and so that’s what happened.”
The “Sexy Can I” singer called the ordeal “unfortunate” but also shared that they later talked about the situation “for about 35 minutes.”
Minaj seemed uninterested in the resolution and further pressed Ray to spill the details on what they were “arguing about.”
“Comments that I was making on my show,” he replied, seemingly referring to “The Reality Check.”
Ray also addressed the incident during his guest appearance on Wack 100 on Wednesday.
The “One Wish” artist claimed he had “nobody with” him when Quincy Brown, Christian Combs and Justin Combs allegedly “tried to rush” him — until Chris Brown stepped in to intervene.
“I moved away from it,” Ray, 43, alleged. “I tried to talk some sense into what happened. Luckily, the homie Chris was there.”
The “I Hit It First” singer confirmed that the Chris he was referring to was “Chris Brown, bro.”
Ray seemed hesitant to share any further info, however, and repeatedly asked the interviewer to “not put this s–t up online.”
Reps for Combs did not return Page Six’s request for comment.
The “Let It Go” singer shared the details after Page Six confirmed that Brown, 35, broke up a fight between Combs’ three sons and Ray last weekend.
A source told Page Six that Quincy, 33, Justin, 30, and Christian, 26, were having “fun” with other celebrities at a Halloween party hosted by Unruly Agency CEO Tara Electra.
However, things took a turn when Ray went outside to the parking lot with Amber Rose and his manager.
An insider claimed Combs’ kids saw Ray and confronted him over things he recently said about their dad, who remains in jail in Brooklyn, NY, while awaiting trial for sex trafficking and racketeering.
“When the party ended, all three of the brothers were talking s–t to Ray and he was ignoring it because he was with Amber,” the source shared.
The situation reportedly started to escalate when the men began chest-bumping each other and getting in their faces.
We’re told Brown was in his car at the time of the altercation. He quickly intervened, however, after getting a sense that things were getting heated between the two parties.
Brown and Combs’ three sons have yet to address the situation.
“Ray J is always going to stand his ground on what he says, but he has never said anything negative about Diddy’s situation,” a source told us following the incident.
Ray previously spoke about Diddy’s scandal and other celebrities who could potentially be “exposed” as a result of his arrest and upcoming trial.
“I’ve been around long enough to know that when there’s smoke, you always find fire,” he told NewsNation on Sept. 30.
“I think that with the market in our world being so cornered, and you have this crew of people at the top who make all the decisions, it’s like a house of cards,” he continued. “When one falls, the whole deck comes down.”
Combs’ sons and three daughters have shown their support for their dad by attending his court hearing in New York City last month and releasing a joint statement.
The record exec is currently facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all.
While Combs has been in prison, he has started to face additional legal problems with several people suing him for alleged sexual abuse. He has denied all allegations.
