Audi’s new model onslaught will continue into the new year with the automaker confirming on Tuesday the reveal of a redesigned A7 in early 2025.

The new A7’s arrival will follow that of the new A5, Q5, and A6 E-Tron all debuting in the summer. A new Q5 Sportback is also scheduled to debut later in November.

The new A7 should reach U.S. showrooms later next year as a 2026 model.

The current A7 is offered exclusively as a liftback, except in China where a stretched A7 sedan is also available. For the next generation, there will be sedan and wagon body styles.

With the A6 range switching to electric power with the arrival of the A6 E-Tron, the new A7 will essentially offer an alternative for buyers still wanting a gas engine, either as a standalone unit or in combination with a plug-in hybrid system.

Audi hasn’t mentioned plans for the new A7, but expect the automaker to use the Volkswagen Group’s PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform designed for premium cars with gas and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The platform made its debut in the new A5.

Currently only the A7 sedan is expected in the U.S., though some versions of the A7 wagon, a body style referred to by Audi as an Avant, may make it here to replace previously available Audi wagons like the A6 Allroad and RS 6 Avant. Prototypes for new A7 Allroad soft-roader and RS 7 Avant performance wagon have been spotted.

The new A7 range will be among the last Audis to feature gas engines as the automaker has confirmed it will only launch electric vehicles after 2026.
