Relative arrested after two decomposing bodies found in Antioch home
(KRON) — The Antioch Police Department (APD) announced the arrest of a man following the discovery of his mother and half-brother’s bodies, which were found decomposing in their home.
Officers responded to a welfare check at 2600 Fairmount Lane on Oct. 16 at 4:10 p.m. and soon encountered the bodies of a man and woman in “advanced stages of decomposition.” As they were investigating, they contacted the suspect, 46-year-old Mark Taylor, who was leaving the residence. Authorities said the victims were identified as a 65-year-old woman and 39-year-old man.
Investigators have determined that Taylor murdered both his mother and half-brother. He has been charged with two counts of murder and is currently held at the Contra Costa County Detention Facility.
The APD stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
