Sarnia, Ont., encampment tent nearly struck by impaired driver’s vehicle, police say | CBC News
A tent at an encampment in Sarnia, Ont., “narrowly” avoided being hit by a vehicle over the weekend, according to local police.
Authorities allege the driver of the vehicle was impaired when it nearly struck a tent in Rainbow Park.
“Officers arrived to find the driver holding an open liquor bottle with several empty beer cans in the front seat,” Sarnia police said in a statement.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
A 25-year-old Blenheim, Ont., man has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and for refusing to supply a breath sample.
