Scottish Rugby provided with dozens of electric SUVs for staff
SCOTTISH Rugby has been provided with dozens of plush electric SUVs for use by staff members.
Arnold Clark is behind the 46 Renault Scenic E-Tech cars supplied to employees in an effort to support local Scottish rugby.
The vehicles, intended for use by empoyees who work in the community throughout the country, are long range models with an RRP of £40,995 each – making all 46 worth a whopping total of over £1.8m.
The provision of the vehicles is part of Arnold Clark’s multi-year partnership with Scottish Rugby, as the car dealership group was announced as the new front-of-strip sponsor for the Scotland men’s national team earlier this year.
The Renault Scenic E-Tech long range models boast 220hp and are reportedly capable of a range of 379 miles between charges, which outstrips alternatives like the Kia Niro EV and the Tesla Model Y.
The family car was recently also voted winner at the Scottish Car of the Year 2024 awards.
David Munton, brand director at Arnold Clark, said: “We’re delighted to support grassroots rugby in Scotland.
“Everyone at Arnold Clark takes pride in our long-standing history of giving back to the communities we serve.
“The Renault Scenic is an excellent car and I’m sure will help Scottish Rugby employees continue their terrific work throughout the country.”
Scottish Rugby’s commercial director, Chris Healy, added: “We are delighted that our principal partner Arnold Clark are able to support us in the provision of 46 new Renault Scenic E-Techs.
“The vehicles provided enable our people to deliver rugby sessions in both the community and in talent pathway environments right across Scotland, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of rugby players.”
