Search for passenger who fell overboard on Taylor Swift-themed cruise
A search is under way after a woman fell overboard from a Taylor Swift-themed cruise in the Bahamas, officials have said.
The Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas ship was about 17 miles from the capital, Nassau, when the 66-year-old was reported to have fallen on Tuesday night.
The US Coast Guard said it was assisting the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in the search, as it continued into Wednesday morning, Sky News’ US partner network NBC reported.
An HC-144 airplane crew and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew were a part of the search team.
A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said it is working with local authorities and is providing support and assistance to the guest’s family “during this difficult time”.
The ship – with a few hundred Swifties on board – left Miami in Florida on Monday as part of a fan-led organised event called In My Cruise Era.

The event, hosted by travel agents Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera, and Shelby Reyes of Marvelous Mouse Travels, was not affiliated with the singer, but included private events onboard, according to the group’s website.
Events included a welcome cocktail party, karaoke, friendship bracelet swapping, Taylor trivia, and nightly eras outfit themes.
