The buzz around Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus Love and War just got bigger. Already boasting a stellar cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, the film is set to welcome none other than Shah Rukh Khan in a special role. According to a report by Box Office Worldwide, the superstar will join the ensemble in January 2025 to film his scenes, marking his first collaboration with Bhansali in over two decades.

The report suggests that Shah Rukh’s character will appear in the second half of the film, sharing an intense and pivotal scene with Ranbir Kapoor. If true, this marks an exciting crossover for fans, as Shah Rukh and Ranbir’s on-screen chemistry has been highly anticipated ever since their brief but memorable interaction in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Set against a backdrop of love and patriotism, Love and War promises to be a cinematic spectacle. Alia Bhatt will portray a cabaret dancer, while Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal take on the roles of officers in the Indian Armed Forces. The story explores complex relationships and national pride, with Bhansali’s signature visual grandeur undoubtedly bringing it to life.

Currently, Ranbir and Vicky are filming at the Air Force base in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Viral pictures from the shoot have been doing rounds on social media, showing the duo in casual attire, smiling with a fan during their preparation for the film. Alia Bhatt, busy with YRF’s Alpha alongside Sharvari Wagh, is expected to join the shoot in December.

If Shah Rukh officially signs on, this will mark his reunion with Bhansali after Devdas (2002), a collaboration that redefined opulence in Indian cinema. Fans are already speculating about the significance of his role in the film. Given Bhansali’s penchant for making every character memorable, Shah Rukh’s cameo is expected to pack a punch.
