Stormtrooper helmet from original Star Wars film sells for eye-watering sum
A STORMTROOPER helmet from the original Star Wars film has sold for £325,000.
It featured in the Jedi mind trick scene from 1977 movie, later renamed Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
The helmet was among 1,800 pieces of film, TV and music memorabilia auctioned over four days.
The arena helmet and mask worn by Russell Crowe in Sir Ridley Scott’s 2000 epic Gladiator raised £125,000.
Noel Gallagher’s custom Silver Sparkle Les Paul Florentine guitar, used for live performances, sold for £226,800.
Michael Jackson’s signed red leather jacket for the Thriller tour rehearsal went for £189,000.
Top TV prop was a model vehicle from adventure series Thunderbirds, at £168,750.
The Propstore sale in London also included Forrest Gump’s baseball cap, which went for £59,375.
Captain Jack Sparrow’s hat sold for £21,250.
Colin Firth’s reindeer jumper from Bridget Jones’s Diary sold for £5,625.
Clint Eastwood’s duster cost while playing Blondie in 1966’s The Good, The Bad And The Ugly also made £75,000.
A red baseball cap worn by Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump sold for £59,375.
