But viewers think it’s clear comedian Chris will win after noticing a rather big clue in the betting.

For the first time in the show’s history, bookmaker Betfred has a finalist at 1/20 with a 95 per cent probability of winning.

Betfred’s Kayley Cornelius said: “The Glitterball trophy feels within reach for comedian Chris McCausland. With odds of 1/20 to win this weekend, he stands as the bookmakers’ strongest favourite in the competition’s history, boasting a massive 95% chance of victory.”

Discussing how likely it is for him to win, one person commented: “It’s #Strictly final day & no #StrictlySpoiler other than to say that CHRIS is nailed on to win with the bookies.”

A second added: “Genuinely never been so assured someone is going to win strictly before then I do think Chris & Dianne will do this evening. Feel like he could go and tap his feet a little & still win!”

While a third remarked: “Chris is now massive odds on and an absolute certainty to win this!”

The stars will all perform three more routines each – a couple’s pick, judges’ choice and a show dance – in a bid to win the glitterball trophy.

Ahead of the final, Chris said: “I feel like we’ve never stayed in the competition above anybody that got higher scores than us, so it feels like we’ve exceeded expectations and got here on our own merits, so we’ve succeeded above and beyond what we expected of ourselves.”

His partner Dianne agreed that they had not initially expected to reach the final, saying: “It’s the biggest surprise that we’ve made it all the way to the end. Reaching the final is the cherry on the cake.”

Reflecting back on his journey, the comic described it as “unbelievable, surprising and emotional” and feels he has learnt a lot about himself.

“The fact that we’ve been able to do it, the fact that we’ve been able to pull this off, the fact we’ve been able to learn the dances and put on a show… It’s all surprising”, he added.
