The Houston Texans were nearly hit with a significant injury, as star running back Joe Mixon went down after a hip drop tackle. Mixon was shown on the ground for a long time and looked to be in significant pain.
Following the tackle that wrapped Mixon up, he was shown walking off the field of his own power. Thankfully, he has since returned to the lineup.
The initial scene was quite frightening, as Mixon was on the turf for a long time. The training staff immediately came out to tend to him, and things looked quite serious.
Once Mixon walked off the field, he immediately went to the bench, which was a good sign. Had he gone to the blue medical tent, or the locker room, the Texans might have had to rule him out.
