The funniest Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale memes created by fans this week
Another week in soapland has come to a close and amid the darkness in the likes of Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale, fans have found quite a lot to laugh about.
Who knew.
After taking a deep dive into the world of social media, join us once again as we reflect on the posts from soap lovers that have had us giggling this week.
Rachel Reeves heads to Brookside
It was Budget Day this week and while many had their eyes and ears on Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ statement, soap fan @camjmes0 couldn’t help but have a little bit of fun with photoshop, placing Rachel right alongside the street sign from Brookside.
A line from a Shakespeare play, or a scene from EastEnders?
Mo Harris (Laila Morse) never fails to make us laugh. This week, the beloved character admitted a dish cooked by Harvey (Ross Boatman) looked like Kermit had ‘curled one out’, which, according to @Matt_in_London, absolutely could’ve been placed in a script written by Shakespeare.
Honestly? We agree.
The Square Gardens memories
With residents discussing the Square Gardens this week, @AndiMcLellan on X got thinking about all the drama that’s unfolded right in the centre of Walford and one of the most important moments that came to mind?
When a young Abi Branning got her head stuck in the railings, obvs.
How did she even manage that?!
The return of Ee-laine
Quite a lot of people picked up on this. Amid Kat Slater’s (Jessie Wallace) stressful and traumatic ordeal involving violent son Tommy (Sonny Kendall), she amazingly still managed to call Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) ‘Ee-laine’ in an argument – and fans absolutely loved the writers for including this.
‘I love how even in a screaming match, Kat still calls Elaine “Ee-laine”‘, one wrote.
Betsy’s gossip
Maybe practice your inside voice for next week, eh Betsy?
Proof Kim Tate presented The Traitors before Claudia Winkleman did
Fans loosing their minds over Swarla
It’s absolutely no secret Coronation Street fans are becoming obsessed with Swarla aka Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). With romance hopes brewing, any scenes they have together are sending Corrie audience members into a bit of a spin.
Shoutout to @okwhatsgoingon for this perfectly timed reaction tweet, that basically sums up how fans have felt this week
