Whoopi Goldberg had an interesting take on Donald Trump‘s presidential win on this morning’s episode of The View, where she joked that his second term in the White House felt like “having a period again.”

The unusual remark came at the top of the broadcast when Goldberg introduced former View co-host Abby Huntsman and The Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay as the show’s last-minute guest co-hosts filling in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, Joy Behar, and Sara Haines amid their absences.

“I got the call yesterday and I think I was in my sweatpants cleaning up mac and cheese off the floor and [executive producer Brian Teta was] like, ‘We’re in a pinch,’” Hunstman said of the moment she was asked to appear on this morning’s episode. “I’m like, ‘If Whoopi’s there and Sunny’s there and Rachel’s there.’”

The journalist, who co-hosted The View amid Trump’s first term from 2018 to 2020, added that being back on the daytime talk show felt like “deja vu.”

“Trump’s president again,” she noted. “Like, what’s changed since I was here last?”

Goldberg agreed, before playfully adding, “I feel like maybe I’m just re-going through menopause again. It’s like having a period again. Never mind, anyway.”

This isn’t the first time Goldberg has used an odd analogy while discussing Trump on The View. When the Supreme Court ruled in March that Colorado could not exclude Trump from the state’s primary ballot despite his insurrection involvement, Goldberg accused them of giving the then-Republican nominee “a rubber.”

“The thing that bothers me about this, and I know it’s probably the right decision, but I don’t like that we’ve normalized this man,” Goldberg explained at the time. “It is really irritating the poo out of me that we have normalized him and his bad behavior.”

“He is once again been given a rubber to put on and walk through the poo—” she later added, before telling the audience, “Yes, yes, you heard me.” However, Goldberg did not further explain her remark.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
