Facundo Arana He feels like he doesn’t have enough time. At his age, 52, the actor faced several life challenges, including a very tough and early test: facing a diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma as a teenager. Arana overcame it and managed to earn a leading place as an actor, with great successes on Argentine television.

The actor drew sighs as Father Courage, he was the star of the Pol-ka strips and the heartthrob of a few more novels. But, one day, Facundo made a decision: he left the TV sets, dedicated himself to his family and concentrated his acting energy on the theater, where he has a play on the bill in which music, one of his passions, appears.

“I stopped doing TV for a long time”said Arana, visiting Mañanísima, and explained the reason that led him to move away from strips and productions, a path he took after the death of his father. “In the last time of life, we had very nice talks. And in one I asked him, old man, what would you change?”he recalled.

And he told me, verbatim, ‘if I could go back in time, I would spend more time with you’”he recalled, and noted: “I saw his look. My old man was a teacher at the university. And I gave it to my dad to the students at the college. I swear, I think that way and I’m proud of it. But my old man said ‘I would have spent more time with you’. So, I am a very good understander.”

WHY FACUNDO ARANO CHOSE TO DO THEATER INSTEAD OF TELEVISION

His father’s reflection resonated strongly with Arana and from that moment on he chose to reject offers on television to enjoy his children and his wife, María Susini, more. “TV takes a lot of time, 12 hours a day. Then you have to go to training, read the script for tomorrow. You’re thinking about that, you can’t disconnect easily”he explained.

In this sense, the actor was grateful for the opportunity he had: to stop doing television to dedicate himself to theater. An activity that, he said, allows him to have more time. “Theatre makes my day, it allows me to recover”he indicated, happy with his decisions.
