One sheep was having a bit of a baa-d Sunday when it escaped from its pen and ended up wandering along Bamburgh Drive in Seaham this morning (November 3).

Locals woke up to find the lost sheep in their gardens, which is believed to have entered the estate after escaping from a small holding.

Luckily, its owner came along and collected the sheep which is now safe and sound back with its flock.

One resident said: “I had to do a double take when I opened the blinds. It was just staring at me.

“Everyone in the street was out. It was hilarious. Thankfully it was rounded up and didn’t seem too concerned.”
