A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was fatally shot in the San Gabriel Valley overnight.
The shooting was reported around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in a tree-lined residential neighborhood on the 900 block of Fickewirth Avenue in La Puente.
Arriving deputies found a woman with at least one gunshot wound down at the scene.
The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated.
No details about what led up to the shooting or a possible motive were provided.
Investigators have not released any information regarding the suspect, or suspects, in the shooting.
