Yellow weather warning issued for weekend snow in Hampshire
The warning covers a large part of England, Wales and Scotland. It comes after heavy winds battered Southampton on New Year’s Day.
While Southampton is not in the warning area, Romsey sits on the edge of the zone with temperatures expected to plummet to -2C on Saturday.
Winchester is set to be hit by snow, the Met Office warns. The yellow weather warning starts on Saturday and runs through to Monday.
The Met Office said: “Heavy snow may cause some disruption over the weekend
“There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
“There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off
“There is a chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.”
