Yellowknife woman facing child pornography charges | CBC News
A Yellowknife woman is facing three charges related to child pornography.
N.W.T. RCMP said Friday afternoon they have charged Angel Anderson, 39, of Yellowknife with two counts of transmitting child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.
The charges come a year after the RCMP’s internet child exploitation unit began an investigation into offences allegedly committed at an address in Yellowknife.
That investigation culminated in a search of a home in Yellowknife last February, where police say they arrested a suspect and seized several electronic devices. After the devices were analyzed, they laid the charges against Anderson.
Anderson has been released on bail with conditions that include not having a job or volunteering where she would be in a position of trust over anyone under the age of 16; having no contact with anyone under 16 unless in the company of an approved adult; and not going to public parks, daycares, schools, playgrounds, libraries, community centres or swimming areas where people under 16 are present.
Anderson is set to appear in territorial court in Yellowknife on Dec. 10.
